SmartDelta Project: AI to prevent code errors in industrial software

The SmartDelta project has its origins in the development of automated solutions for assessing the quality of changes (deltas) in products within a continuous engineering environment. These solutions provide intelligent analysis of development artefacts such as source code, log files, requirements specifications, etc., as well as system behaviour during execution. In this way, valuable information is obtained on possible improvements or degradations in the quality of the different versions of the product, facilitating the optimisation of future constructions.

Izertis, in collaboration with other companies, is responsible for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) models for code review prior to production release. The system not only identifies problems, but also generates specific recommendations and detailed solutions to correct errors, speeding up the correction process and reducing the development time needed to fix bugs.

The SmartDelta project is in the process of creating a comprehensive methodology for production start-up

The project is being tested in various programming languages (such as Python, JavaScript, HTML and CSS) and in different industry sectors, including banking, retail and the aeronautics industry. This demonstrates the versatility of the tools developed and their ability to adapt to different environments and requirements.

The SmartDelta project is in the process of creating a comprehensive methodology for production start-up. This methodology provides a set of recommended steps and best practices to ensure that code deployed to production is of high quality and functions correctly, building on the tools and approaches developed in the project.

"It is important for us because in addition to growing technically in one of Izertis' core areas or in one of its key technologies, it is a multi-sector project, involving universities and companies from different countries, which favours not only the global applicability of the project, but also its implementation in different contexts and industrial sectors", emphasises Philippe Harb, IA Project Manager.

Izertis reaffirms its commitment to cutting-edge technologies and to the project's partners, such as the Carlos III University of Madrid. The technology consultancy has achieved the objectives set for the Spanish part of the project and continues to move towards its completion through testing, exploitation, dissemination and manuals. All this in order to comply with the complete project planning and the commitments made to the European Commission.

SmartDelta is one of the projects financed with funds from the CDTI, a public business entity attached to the Ministry of Science and Innovation, earmarked for R&D&I in Spain.
